Mayor Belen T. Fernandez fervent hopes that her constituents can get a share in the mammoth U.S $25 billion industry and create 5,000 direct jobs in the next three years in the City.
One of the most dynamic and fastest growing sectors in the Philippines, the industry is composed of eight sub-sectors, namely, knowledge process outsourcing and back offices, animation, call centers, software development, game development, engineering design, and medical transcription.
Joining Mayor Fernandez in the IT-BPM Conference held at the world class Stadia here were Jonathan De Luzuriaga- President of the Philippine Software Industry, lawyer Jocelle Sigue- Board of Trustee of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, Paul Tajon-Senior Investment Specialist, Alvin Juban- President of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines, Natalie Hunter- Executive Director of the Philippines Software Industry Association.
Students from different colleges and universities were part of last Friday's Conference as the mayor embarked on a mission of creating the City's ICT-Business Process Management Industry.
