Mar C. Ortigoza Kinilaw na bangus kmi kc dito. I taught Galman how to make it w red egg and small slices of fried pork and Valenzuela JhayVie of USA could attest that it was the best in the entire Dagupan and Pangasinan. Wait for our new tuna concoction, I and errand boy Galman would make it better than Davao City he he

My Father Got Two Grenades on his Hands

By Mortz C. Ortigoza
The first time I saw my military father ready to die for the motherland or probably for my mother, I was in Grade 5 in M’lang, Cotabato Province.
He was then on a soldier’s pass when he brought me and my kindergarten brother Gabriel to a rickety worn out wood walled barbershop which, I still remember, was owned by the father of my playmates Stephen and Toto Felipe. The latter, a rugged boy, had fisticuffs with me, but that’s another story.
My father fatigue
My father Retired Air Force Lieutenant Marcelo Cruz Ortigoza, Sr. Papa was probably the
most pro- United States’ soldier. When we lived at the Philippine Military Academy, Baguio
City in the early 1970s I saw him bought and crowed his U.S made fatigue uniform, duffel
bag, charol black shoes, and boots from stores in Quiapo selling Yanks made soldiers’
 paraphernalia.
When we were seating at the worn-out barber couch elevated by small wood boxes to raise our heads, some peasant women running and shouting with their lungs out that the Black Shirts (precursor of the Moro National Liberation Front) were already at the periphery of the Peñaranda Hospital.
The hospital was more than a kilometer away from us.
Immediately my father told the frail looking barber Mr.Felipe to forego our military white style wall haircut (that I detested because I envied the mop haired Beatles) because he had to secure us and promised to return with his weapon and later with us whose side of the heads were already shaved just like those plebes at the Philippine Military Academy where I and my sibling were born.

CARELESS FACEBOOK'S USER SUED

By Mortz C. Ortigoza

My elementary classmate Nathaniel “Ontoy” Fabila in Mindanao frantically called me last Monday morning in Dagupan City if I know Northern Luzon Correspondent Frank Cimatu of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI).
I told him Cimatu was based at the Rappler.com Baguio City’s bureau – an almost two hour’s ride from my city.
Why you called?” I posed to Ontoy, who is a radio bloc timer of Secretary Manny Piñol of the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries (DAF).

You read the Face Book (FB) Account of Secretary Manny he was furious at Cimatu who accused him with corruption”.
When I browsed Piñol, a town mate, FB he was pugnacious and was craving for Cimatu’s blood in a libel case he mulled to file with his lawyer.
He posted that Cimatu’s post "Agri Sec got rich by 21-M in 6 months. Bird Flu pa more” was a criminal defamatory case.
Piñol stressed to exchanges with supporters at his FB account and at Cimutu’s public FB where he argued with a Cimatu’s friend, that the Philippines Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) Report was all about the Statements of Assets Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) that required public officials like him to file annually.
